GERMANTOWN, Md. - The Elizabethtown College men's swimming team sits in the top five after day one of the Landmark Conference Championship.
The Blue Jays tallied 105 points for fifth place. Catholic leads the field with 234 points.Â
The biggest bright spot for Etown on the day was the 200 IM, as freshman
Connor Oswald (6th, 2:06.47), sophomore
Alex Waskiewicz (7th, 2:06.91), and freshman
Zain Wegman (8th, 2:07.92) all earned a spot on the podium, combining for 36 points
The Blue Jays also started off the evening session strong with a fifth place finish in the 200 free relay. The quartet of sophomore
Dylan Fitzgerald, Oswald, Waskiewicz, and freshman
AJ West touched the wall in 1:29.17.
Etown then completed the evening with another strong showing in a relay, taking fourth place in the 400 medley relay. Freshman
Franky Swain teamed up with Oswald West, and senior
Sam Lopez to finish in 3:40.35.
Elizabethtown is back in action tomorrow, February 19 at day two of the Landmark Conference Championship. Races begin at 10 a.m.Â
