ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Between competitions at the Ocean Breeze T&F Center in Staten Island, N.Y. and the Susquehanna Invitational this weekend, the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team had six new top 10 all-time performances at the two meets Friday and Saturday.
Sarah Habiballah was the top individual finisher of the weekend for the Blue Jays.
On Friday in New York,
Melissa Fitzgibbon turned in the Jays' top performance as she took ninth in the 5k at 19:09.23.
Hallie Weaver was 11th in the race at 19:24.09.
Marissa Lapinsky and
Kelty Oaster each ran new 800m personal bests. Lapinsky was 10th overall in 2:20.81 as she moved from eighth to sixth on the all-time list for Etown. Oaster was right behind her in 2:20.84, now seventh all-time. She was 11th overall.
Habiballah's mark of 9.85m in the triple jump was good for third place.
Sydney Detky and
Jocelynn Itterly tied for sixth in the high jump at 1.52m (4'11-3/4"), which was a new PR for Itterly. The junior shifts from a tie for ninth all-time into a tie for eighth.
Devin Riss also cleared a new personal best for the Blue Jays. Her vault of 2.90m (9'6-1/4") was good for 10th overall in the competition and moves her up the all-time list from seventh to sixth.
Detky and
Melissa Patton both ran their fastest 60m times in the prelims. Detky dropped her time down to 8.37 to improved her sixth-place standing all-time. Patton moved from 10th to seventh with her 8.50.
Megan Lysek-Hagy was ninth in the 5,000m at 20:13.60 and the 4x200m relay finished third in 1:54.49.
The women's track & field team will compete at the Susquehanna Tune Up on Friday, February 18.
