TOWSON, Md. -- Brandon Baxter led the way for the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team on Saturday at the 2022 Landmark XC Championships hosted at Goucher College. Baxter was one of four Blue Jays to finish in all-conference position as Etown placed third out of six with 61 points.

Elizabethtown wasn't at full strength, missing a pair from its top five. That didn't stop Baxter and others from stepping up to give the Jays a chance at reclaiming their crown.

Baxter placed seventh in the 8k championship race in 26:23.0 to earn All-Conference First Team honors. 

The remaining four scoring members all crossed one behind the other. Matt Fick was at the head of that group, taking 12th in 26:50.8. Next was Christian Gingrich in 13th at 26:53.8.

Devon Soto was 14th as he, Fick, and Gingrich were all Second Team honorees for their placement. Daniel Myers finished 15th to complete the Jays' scoring.

Shane Houghton of Moravian was this year's individual champion as the Greyhounds placed 1-2-3 to win the team championship with 33 points. Catholic was second with 42.

The Blue Jays will compete next at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional meet on Saturday, November 12.
