Women's Swimming Cruises Past Goucher, Immaculata

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's swim team cruised to two victories to open up the 2022-23 season. The Blue Jays defeated Goucher, 192-64 and Immaculata, 206-52. 

To start off the afternoon, the Elizabethtown 200 medley relay teams picked up first and third finishes. In the 1000 freestyle, freshman Hailey Poulos earned her first career win with a time of 11:48.71 while Brooke Langowski (12:44.63) picked up the second place finish. Sarah Marston earned her first win of the day in the 200 freestyle clocking in at, 1:59.25. Olivia Hillman finished second while Jordyn Dutko touched fourth in the event. In the 50 backstroke, Kaylee Blair won with a time of 30.57 and in the 50 breaststroke Emma Sabalaske won with a time of 33.02.  

Maddey Brelsford (1:07.26) took first in the 100 butterfly and Zoe Bender finished fifth touching the wall at 1:13.93. Etown took the top two spots in the 50 freestyle as Gracie Harding clocked in at 26.53 and Lexi Fink finished with a time of 27.18. Etown swept the 100 freestyle going with Marston leading the way. In the 100 backstroke, the Blue Jays again finished in the top two with Blair (1:05.59) and Brelsford (1:05.88). 

In the 100 breaststroke, Sabalaske won with a time of 1:12.91 while Elizabethtown also took third through fifth places. In the 500 freestyle, Poulous was again victorious with a time of 5:47.68 while Hillman and Langowski were close behind. Marston won her third event of the day in the 200 IM coming in with a time of 2:17.44. Sabalaske finished with a time of 2:26.58 and Parks finished with a time of 2:38.96 in the event. In the final event of the day, the Blue Jays took first in the 200 freestyle relay by a margin of six seconds. 

Elizabethtown will compete in the Schweikert Relays hosted by Susquehanna on October 28th at 5 PM.
