GLASSBORO, N.J. -- Christian Gingrich was the top finisher for the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team on Saturday at the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University. The Blue Jays were 18th out of 35 teams with 446 points.
In the highly competitive field of the Division III Championship 8k race, the Blue Jays had four of their five in the top 100, all within five seconds of one another.
Gingrich was at the front of that group, taking 92nd in 26:41.5.
Matt Fick was right with him, taking 93rd in 26:41.7.
Brandon Baxter was next, in 97th, at 26:44.9. He was followed by
Daniel Myers in 26:46.5, which was 98th.
Devon Soto was the fifth scoring members for Elizabethtown. He finished 117th in 27:03.
The Blue Jays also had runners in the 8k Open, where they took 12th out of 17. In order of finish for the top five, it was
Marc Ramson,
Marty Ratchford,
Carson Wiley,
Alex Fox, and
Chase Wargo.
Elizabethtown will now shift its focus to the Landmark Conference Championships at Goucher on Saturday, October 29.
