LANCASTER, Pa. -- Aleaha Bigelow recorded her first career goal for the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team Wednesday afternoon in a 5-1 non-conference loss at Franklin & Marshall. It was the first time since 2016 that the Blue Jays have conceded five goals in a game. Sierra Brophy netted a hat trick for F&M in the win.
Franklin & Marshall (3-0)Â posted a pair of goals in the opening 15 minutes. Brophy's first of the game came in the seventh minute for a 1-0 lead before assisting on the game's second goal scored by Bri Skidmore in the 14th minute.
Bigelow's tally cut the deficit in half in the 21st minute, though it's all Elizabethtown (0-3) would get in the game. The Diplomats held the Blue Jays to five shots over the 90 minutes with just two on frame. F&M finished with 21 shots, nine of which were credited on target.
Haley Barge made it 3-0 in the 41st as the Jays trailed 3-1 at halftime. Brophy scored twice in a five-minute span early in the second half to help the Diplomats pull away.
Sara Ghorashi got the win for F&M, making one save.
The Blue Jays will head to Stevenson on Saturday, September 11, for a 4 p.m. matchup with the Mustangs.
