CAMDEN, N.J. -- For the first time in over 600 days, the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team was back on the pitch Thursday at Rutgers-Camden to kickoff the 2021 season.
Adrienne McGallicher made four saves in her Etown debut.
The Scarlet Raptors produced the game's only goal in the 21st minute off a corner. Hannah Crowley latched onto a loose ball on the left side of the box that she sent top shelf for the goal.
Aleaha Bigelow's chance a few minutes later was blocked. Rutgers-Camden (1-0) held the Blue Jays to one shot in each half.
Maddie McWhinney produced the Jays' best chance of the second half, sending a curling ball just over the top right of the crossbar in the 50th minute.
Elizabethtown (0-1) will host Gettysburg over at Elizabethtown Area High School on Saturday, September 4, at 9 a.m.
