SCRANTON, Pa. – Senior Thomas Palen scored a career-high five goals, but Scranton overcame a late two-goal deficit to top Elizabethtown, 10-9, in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 1-1 on the year and in league play, while the Royals improve to 3-1 overall and in the Landmark.

Scranton was led by juniors Cole Lukasiewicz and Sean Crotty who each finished the afternoon with three points (two goals, one assist).

Etown netted the first goal in the game just over a minute into the game, as Cost found Palen for the early tally.

The Royals responded with four consecutive goals in the opening period before Kilgour scored his first in an Etown uniform, making the score 4-2 after one.

The Blue Jays cut the deficit to one at the start of the second quarter when junior Parker Tribble found Yake for his lone tally of the game with 13:29 remaining in the first half.

Scranton, however, went on a second run, scoring the next three goals to hold a 7-3 lead with just under 12 minutes to go in the third period.

Etown rallied with six unanswered goals, capped off by a Scrafano strike from Kilgour, making the score 9-7 with 10:01 left on the clock.
