LANCASTER, Pa. - Five different athletes had all-time performances for the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team on Saturday at the Diplomat Open. It was the first indoor meet of the season for the Blue Jays.
Abigail Buffington had the top finish of the day for Etown.
Buffington, in her first collegiate meet for Elizabethtown, was the runner-up in the triple jump. Her best of the event was a jump of 10.29m (33'9-1/4"), the seventh-best in Elizabethtown program history.
Jocelynn Itterly was third in the high jump at 1.50m (4'11"), tied for the ninth-highest all-time.
Sydney Detky placed seventh.
Mylea Neidig was 10th in the shot put at 10.33m (33'10-3/4"), which puts her ninth in school history.
Emily Ward made the top 10 list in the 60m hurdles at 11.79, eighth all-time.
Devin Riss set a new personal best in the pole vault at 2.75m (9'0-1/4') to move from 10th to a tie for eighth in program history.
Sarah Habiballah was third in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
Kylie Evoy placed fifth for the Blue Jays in the 800m. Both 4x400m relays were top-10 finishers. The relay of
Melissa Patton, Detky, Habiballah, and
Marissa Lapinsky was seventh while the squad of Buffington,
Victoria Wert,
Jess D'Iorio, and
Maddy Eisenhart was 10th.
The women's track & field team will be back at Franklin & Marshall on January 15, 2022, for the Coach I Invitational.
