GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Elizabethtown College men's swimming team competed at day one of the Gettysburg Invitational Friday evening.
The Blue Jays sit in sixth place with 52 points while Swarthmore lead with 288 points.
The relays did the scoring for Etown starting with a 12th place finish by sophomore Dylan Fitzgerald, freshman Connor Oswald, senior Sam Lopez, and freshman AJ West in a time of 1:30.40. Finishing just behind the quartet was sophomore Alex Waskiewicz, freshman Liam Quick, freshman Andrew Hoch, and freshman Joshua McQueen in 15th place (1:33.33).
Fitzgerald, Oswald, West, and Lopez then teamed up in the 400 medley relay, touching the wall in 3:42.59 for an 11th place finish. Joining them with a top-15 finish was senior Nathan Tobler, Waskiewicz, McQueen, and Hoch in 13th place (3:55.94).
Elizabethtown returns to action tomorrow, December 4 at day two of the Gettysburg Invitational. The first session begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the second session at 3 p.m.
