ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College men's swimming team won eight individual events and both relays on their way to the 183-46 win over Stevenson Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 3-2 on the season, while the Mustangs fall to 1-5.
Freshmen
Franky Swain and
Connor Oswald led Etown winning two individual events each. Swain found victories in the 50 (27.99) and 100 (1:00.16) back and Oswald touched the wall first in the 50 (28.56) and 100 (1:03.09) breast.
Wrapping up the eight other wins for the Blue Jays was sophomore
Dylan Fitzgerald in the 200 free (1:55.96), freshman
AJ West in the 100 free (52.86), junior
Kale Decker in the 500 free (5:22.49), and freshman
Zain Wegman in the 400 IM (4:44.40).
Etown opened the meet with its first of two relay victories as freshman
Liam Quick, sophomore
Alex Waskiewicz, freshman
Andrew Hoch, and freshman
John-Robert Venza teamed up to swim 1:48.83 in the 200 medley relay. The Blue Jays then completed the meet as they started with the quartet of Fitzgerald, Quick, freshman
Joshua McQueen, and senior
Sam Lopez touching the wall in first in the 200 free relay (1:38.17).
Elizabethtown will host its final home meet of 2021 on Saturday, November 20 against Landmark Conference foe Catholic. First races start at 1 p.m.
