BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The title streak for the Elizabethtown College women's cross country came to an end on Saturday as the Blue Jays finished fourth at the Landmark Conference Championships at Bicentennial Park. Susquehanna edged out the championship by one point over Moravian.
Kelty Oaster was the top finisher for Etown in sixth place. The Jays finished with 73 points.
Oaster, who has primarily been the team's top performer this fall was once again out front for Elizabethtown. The sophomore ran a season-best 6k race for the Jays and took sixth at 23:42.9. She was also named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team.
Madison Webber took a chunk off her 6k time from two weeks ago at Gettysburg and placed 14th for Etown. She finished in 24:43.6 and also earned an all-conference selection to the Second Team.
Bridget Kennedy, who was 15th, and
Amanda Kauffman, who took 16th, also dropped their 6k times down under 25 minutes on Saturday. Kennedy ran 24:49.8 and Kauffman crossed in 24:50.6, over a minute faster than two weeks ago at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational.
Hallie Weaver was the Blue Jays' fifth scoring member. She was 22nd at 25:19.0.
Elizabethtown's streak of six consecutive titles, seeking a seventh, came to a close, as did their overall streak of 13 in a row, seeking a 14th, between the MAC and Landmark. The Blue Jays will now turn their focus to the regional meet on Saturday, November 13.
