SELINSGROVE, Pa. - In what turned into a unique dual meet with Susquehanna, the Elizabethtown College women's swimming team got the 2021-22 season underway at the Schweikert Relays.
Throughout the evening, the women showed their depth in the breaststroke and were also competitive in sprint and mid-distance freestyle events.
The highlight of the night for the Blue Jays was the 200 fly relay where the team of sophomore Maddy Brelsford, senior
Robin Hill, senior
Marin Adams and sophomore
Sarah Marston out touched the River Hawks to take the event with a time of 1:55.70.
In the 500 free crescendo relay, the team of junior
Brooke Langowski, freshman
Gracie Harding, Hill, and Marston were sitting in third place until the final leg before they came roaring back over the final 200 to win in a time of 4:28.65.
The final win for Etown came in the mixed 200 medley relay as Brelsford and Marston teamed up with freshmen Connor Oswald and Joshua McQueen to touch the wall first in 1:50.90.
Little rest for the Blue Jays as they hit the road once again tomorrow, October 23 to take on Goucher and Immaculata in Baltimore, Md. First races start at 1 p.m.
