TOWSON, Md. -- Elizabethtown College men's soccer goalkeeper
Kelvin Del Cid was named the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for a second time this season. It is the third overall honor for the Blue Jays defensively.
Del Cid helped Elizabethtown to a pair of clean sheets this past week with shutouts of Penn State Berks and Juniata. The junior played 77:39 minutes on Wednesday in the 4-0 win over the Nittany Lions before
Nick Pilny took over. The duo earned the combined shutout.
Saturday at Juniata, Del Cid was the force field Etown needed as the Jays went on to a 3-0 win over the Eagles. The Reading, Pa. native went the full 90 for Elizabethtown for the shutout.
In all, Del Cid did not concede a goal and ran his shutout streak to 258:45 minutes. He made nine saves during the week as the Blue Jays went 2-0. He is second in the league in save percentage, goals against, and GAA.
