HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Elizabethtown College men's swimming team won eight events on its way to the 116-31 over Juniata Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Blue Jays wrap up the regular season 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the Landmark.
The Blue Jays opened the afternoon with a victory in the 200 medley relay, as sophomore
Sam Lopez, junior
Alex Pecher, senior
Casey Marshall and freshman
Logan Miller teamed up to finish in 1:59.16.
Lopex scored Elizabethtown first individual victory in the 50 free (25.90), followed by Marshall in the 200 IM (2:27.75) and then Pecher in the 100 fly (1:05.11).
Senior
Brian Sylvestri kept the first place trend going, taking the top spot in the 100 back (1:10.52). Wrapping up the individual first place finishes was freshman
Kale Decker in the 400 free (4:48.87) and Miller in the 100 breast (1:18.03).
The Blue Jays finished off the day as is started behind a first place finish in the 200 free relay thanks to Sylvestri, junior
Ryan Weber, sophomore
Alex Patterson and junior
Connor DiLeo combining for 1:51.57.
Securing second place finishes for Elizabethtown was Pecher in the 200 free (2:05.73), Sylvestri in the 200 IM (2:31.73), Marshall in the 100 free (57.07), Patterson in the 400 free (4:48.42) and sophomore
Colby Schalek (1:21.87).
The Blue Jays now prepare for the Landmark Conference Championship, starting on Friday, Feb. 14. All events will take place at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center in Boyds, Md.
