The lead group stuck together for the early portion of the race, but Fitzgibbon began to pull away and was able to stretch her lead to nearly half a minute by the end. Fitzgibbon was the first to finish and did so in 16:31.39 over 4,300 meters. Donahue came in third with a final time of 17:05.72.

Hallie Weaver made it three Blue Jays in the first four, taking fourth, in 17:09.99.

The alumni were able to stay close, as 2019 graduate Colleen Kernan led the way for the alums. She was the race's runner-up in 16:55.72. Assistant coach Maria Anderson finished fifth, Brianna Earnshaw was sixth, and Ashley Underkofler came in seventh.

The following seven runners were all from the current team and helped secure the win for Elizabethtown. Brooklyne Wiley was eighth in the race (17:46.70) and Courtney Gelb finished ninth to complete the scoring for the Jays.

Elizabethtown will host a short course invitational on Friday, September 20, at 5:45 p.m. at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Annville, Pa.
