TOWSON, Md. – Junior
Eli Perry of the men's soccer team was named Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week after helping the Blue Jays to a 3-1 win against Susquehanna, announce by the organization Monday afternoon.
Perry's deep strike in the second half proved to be the game winner for Elizabethtown, as the Blue Jays open up conference play with a hard fought 3-1 win against the visiting River Hawks.
This was Perry's first goal of the season and the second of his career.
Elizabethtown now sits at 5-3-1 and 1-0-0 in Landmark play. It is the first win for Elizabethtown to open conference play since the 2015 season when the Blue Jays topped Catholic, 5-2.
The men's soccer team hits the road on Wednesday, Oct. 2, for a midweek, non-conference matchup against Penn State Berks. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
