With the loss, Elizabethtown falls to 4-3-1, while the Falcons improve to 5-2-2 in the 56th meeting between the two rivals.
Sophomore Luke Groothoff paced Messiah, registering a goal and an assist while Junior Trevor Goodling and sophomore Lukas Kokolios each scored unassisted goals.
After a back and forth opening half that saw the Falcons hold a slight edge in shots (6-5), the visitors wasted little time getting on the board in the second half, as Groothoff found Goodling with a pass across the top of the Blue Jays 18. Goodling fired a shot that deflected off an Elizabethtown defender and into the back of net for the 1-0 advantage.
Messiah pushed its lead to two almost exactly 10 minutes later, as Kokolios found space 25 yards out and rocketed a shot into the left side of the net, putting the Falcons up 2-0.
Groothoff finished the scoring for Messiah in the 65th minute, handing the Falcons the 3-0 victory.
Freshman
Kelvin Del Cid (4-3-1) made four saves on 15 shots for the Blue Jays.
Senior Nate Flanders (5-2-2) recorded six saves on 10 shots.
