SCRANTON, Pa. -- For the second time this season, Scranton got the better of the Elizabethtown College women's tennis team. This time, it was the Royals defeating the Blue Jays, 5-1, in a Landmark Conference semifinal Wednesday afternoon.
Meghan Chemidlin recorded the lone point of the match for E-town.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scranton took control of the match in doubles with wins in all three to put Elizabethtown's backs against the wall.
- The Royals were a point away from clinching a berth into the championship match with a win at No. 1 singles when Chemidlin was able to extend it.
- Chemidlin won at No. 3 singles over Tatiana Klacko, 6-3, 6-3, to make it 4-1.
- The next match to finish would go in Scranton's favor and thus end it.
