BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Elizabethtown College women's cross country team competed at the Paul Short Invitational in the College Women's Brown 6k race.
Melissa Fitzgibbon was the top finisher for the Blue Jays as they finished 30th out of 44 teams.
Fitzgibbon, a sophomore, once again led E-town. She ended up 71st out of 363 runners in the race with a final time of 22:24.0. Junior
Kaitlin Donahue followed, in 98th, at 22:40.3. Senior
Erin Doherty was the third Blue Jay runner to cross as she finished in 23:08.4. A pair of sophomores rounded out the scoring five for Elizabethtown.
Brooklyne Wiley was the team's fourth runner to finish and
Hallie Weaver was the fifth and final scorer for the Jays. Wiley ran 23:21.3 and Weaver timed in at 23:45.1.
The women's cross country team will have another two-week period off before they head to New Jersey to participate in the Inter-Regional Border Battle, hosted by Rowan University, on Saturday, October 19.
