NEWVILLE, Pa. -- Colleen Kernan was in the top 10 for the second straight meet and the Elizabethtown College women's cross country team placed fourth at the Dickinson Long/Short Course Invitational held at Big Spring High School. E-town competed in the 4,000-meter short race.
Kernan and
Olivia Gerstenbacher were not far off each other's pace by the end of the race. Kernan finished 10th in 15:19.32 while Gerstenbacher was 11th in 15:25.28 as the first two runners to finish for Elizabethtown.
Melissa Fitzgibbon was the third scoring runner to count toward the team score. Her scoring rank was 17th while overall she was 18th and E-town finished with 38 points.
Hallie Weaver was also in the top 20. Weaver finished 19th overall (15:50.91).
Shippensburg ended up the first-place team on a tiebreaker with Dickinson, who took second in the team scoring. Each team wound up with 15 points. Misericordia took third with 19 points.
Elizabethtown will compete at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday, October 6, at 10:30 a.m.
