Leib leads Jays with 82 at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Junior Garrett Leib finished as the low scorer for Elizabethtown in its fall opener Tuesday afternoon at a rainy Carlisle Barracks Golf Course.

Leib posted a 10-over par 82 to tie for 35th-place in the 69-player field. The Spring Grove, Pennsylvania native's round was one shot off his career best of 81, set last October at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational.

Following Leib were three newcomers to Elizabethtown, which finished 12th in the team standings with a score of 373 (+85).

Freshman Evan Kreiser navigated the 6,670-yard par 72 course in 93 (+19) to finish 52nd. Fellow rookie Brady McLamb tied for 57th with a 98 (+26).

Senior Nate Baxter was two shots back of McLamb with a 28-over 100 in his first collegiate round. Baxter spent the 2016-18 seasons with the E-town baseball team.

Gettysburg took advantage of individual medalist Danny Harcourt's 4-under 68 to win the team title by nine strokes over host Dickinson's 'Red' squad. The Bullets put three players in the top 10 of the individual standings on their way to shooting even par 288 for the tournament.

McDaniel (300, +12), Muhlenberg (304, +16) and Dickinson's 'White' team (305, +17) completed the top five on a day when three players went under par and another three were even.

The Blue Jays are scheduled to host the Elizabethtown Invitational next Tuesday at 1 p.m. on Hershey Country Club's East Course.
