ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Elizabethtown's first weekend of Landmark Conference play couldn't have gotten off to a better start.

The three-time defending champion Blue Jays backed up Saturday's dominant win over Susquehanna with another impressive effort on Sunday, defeating Juniata 7-2 at the Alumni Courts.

Amber Burd and Laura Gribble secured E-town's first point in short order at second doubles, 8-1, over Anjali Mistry and Savannah Bailey. The two remaining doubles matches would be much more closely contested.

Juniata (6-6, 0-2 Landmark) stole a point at third doubles behind a 9-7 win from Emily Dowler and Kelley Appow, before the Blue Jays' (5-3, 2-0) Lenea Riehl and Meghan Chemidlin captured the last available point in a riveting tiebreaker at first doubles 9-8 (10).

Elizabethtown's top three singles players were all victorious, putting the match out of reach for the Eagles.

Burd handled Mistry 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 and Chemidlin collected a 6-2, 6-2 win over Katharine Conklin at No. 2.

Riehl earned one of the biggest wins of her career to solidify the win for the Jays. The sophomore from Gap, Pennsylvania knocked off 2017 All-Landmark First Team and 2016 Landmark Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year Lauren Lucas 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

Gribble outlasted Dowler in a super tiebreaker at fifth singles 6-2, 4-6, 12-10, and Kaitlyn O'Connor didn't drop a game in the first set on her way to a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Jana Wegener.

The Blue Jays play two more matches against Landmark foes next weekend. They'll first travel to Drew on Saturday, looking to avenge last year's regular season loss to the Rangers. E-town will then face Scranton at home on Sunday at 1 p.m.
