Blue Jays place 12th at Gettysburg Spring Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. -- Elizabethtown finished 12th in the team standings at Tuesday's Gettysburg Spring Invitational at Hanover Country Club.

Felix Goettfert was the Blue Jays' low scorer for the second time in as many spring tournaments with a 14-over par 85.

Craig Eidle also shot a sub-90 round, carding an 88 (+17).

Elizabethtown's remaining scoring rounds came from Tyler Goldberg, who carded a 90, and Michael Zabrecky, who played the 6,518-yard, par 71 course in 96.

Zach Dennin posted a 104 to round out the Jays' five-man team.

The Blue Jays combined to shoot 75-over 359, eight strokes back of Landmark opponent Susquehanna and 30 ahead of another, Juniata. The Landmark trio finished 11th, 12th and 13th in the final standings.

Host Gettysburg used Danny Harcourt's medalist round of 2-over 73 to win its home tournament by four strokes over Lebanon Valley and McDaniel. The Bullets posted a score of 311 (+27). Dickinson and Stevenson tied for fourth with 37-over par scores of 321.

Unless Elizabethtown adds any dates to its schedule, Tuesday's tournament served as its final tune-up for the Landmark Conference Championship May 4-6 at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa.
