CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Samuel Gerstenbacher and Tyler Alansky finished inside the top 35 on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional to earn all-region honors for the second consecutive year. In doing so, they helped the Blue Jays to their best team finish at the regional meet since 2015. E-town was fifth out of the 52 teams scored at the meet.

Gerstenbacher was outside the top 10 through the first 5k marker, but as he has done all season long, finished strong and came up with a seventh-place finish in 26:11. The two-time Landmark champion recorded his fifth meet of the season out of six races where he finished in the top 10. He has finished no lower than 11th overall in any race this season. The junior's placement at the regional meet was also Elizabethtown's best individual finish since Zach Trama '15 placed fourth in 2015.

His running mate, Alansky, produced his best Mideast Regional finish of his career. 31st a season ago, Alansky was 23rd on Saturday in 26:38 and averaged a 5:22/mile pace. Along with Gerstenbacher, Alansky earned a second straight All-Mideast Region honor.

Liam Coverdale moved up a few spots over the final 3,000 meters after registering 38th through 5k. Coverdale ran 27:05 and just missed out on all-region honors by one place. The junior was 36th overall. Christopher Myers ran 27:55 in his first Mideast Regional race and took 75th. Colm Smith was a few seconds behind Myers, in 83rd, at 28:02.

Carnegie Mellon won the Mideast Region with 76 points.
