Blue Jays compete in Gettysburg Fall Invitational

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. -- Evan Kreiser shot a team-low round of 82 and Michael Zabrecky posted a career-best 86 as Elizabethtown finished 13th in Wednesday's Gettysburg Fall Invitational at Hanover Country Club.

Kreiser was the Blue Jays top player for the second time in three fall tournaments and continues to show promise in his first year with the team. The freshman birdied No. 17, a par 5 playing at 505 yards. It was the second longest hole on the course behind No. 1 at 519. Kreiser also collected seven pars on his way to a 30th-place finish in the overall standings.

Zabrecky also had a birdie and seven pars during his round. The senior from Center Valley, Pennsylvania had a strong back nine with a 3-over par 38, including a birdie on No. 11, a 184-yard par 3. Both of his rounds to date this fall have been new career-lows. Zabrecky shot 89 at the Elizabethtown Invitational two weeks ago.

All five Blue Jays participating in Wednesday's tournament had at least one birdie, but none were recorded on the same hole.

Caleb Clements, who carded an 88 (+17), birdied No. 14, a 344-yard par 4. Garrett Leib needed just three shots to complete No. 8, a par 4 playing at 358 yards. Leib shot 92 on the day.

Freshman Brady McLamb birdied No. 6, a 398-yard par 4.

The Blue Jays' top four scorers combined for a 348 (+64). Gettysburg "Orange" was uncontested at the top, winning the tournament by eight strokes over Lebanon Valley with a 308 (+24). Eastern and McDaniel tied for third with 318 (+34), while Cabrini and Dickinson also had matching scores of 319 (+35) to tie for fifth.

Gettysburg's Danny Harcourt shot an even par 71 on the 6,474-yard course to outlast Penn State Altoona's Ethan Yohe for individual medalist honors.

Elizabethtown wraps up its fall season by hosting the two-round Landmark Conference Fall Invitational at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course on Oct. 20-21. The event is a precursor to next May's conference championship tournament.
