Robin Hill and junior
Sara Lingo each collected a pair of individual wins as Elizabethtown swam to a 137-68 victory at Goucher in its first dual meet of the season, Saturday.
Hill cruised to her first career win in the 1000-yard freestyle by more than a minute (11:48.78) and later added one in the 100 butterfly (1:05.31). The West Deptford, New Jersey native also took the opening leg on the victorious 200 free relay and put in a 27.51 50-yard split.
Abigail Mehring,
Cate Falkenstein and
Julia Argentati rounded out the relay, which bested Goucher's top team by more than seven seconds (1:53.05).
Lingo, the defending Landmark 400 IM champion, won the 200 IM in a time of 2:24.29 ahead of teammates
Marin Adams (2:29.21) and
Hope Sury (2:41.22) in a 1-2-3 finish for E-town (1-0, 1-0 Landmark). She would collect her second win of the day in the 100 backstroke (1:06.82).
The Blue Jays won eight of 11 events overall, including the final seven races.
Erika Cole was the only swimmer to break 1:00 in the 100 free (59.88) and held off fellow Blue Jay
Cheryl Errichetti (1:00.76) as the visitors took the top two spots.
Adams joined Hill as a first-time collegiate winner when she captured the 500 free in 5:44.91, which was just under four seconds quicker than runner-up Kathryn Shannon's time (5:48.97).
Senior
Maddie Lasko led the way in the 100 breaststroke with a winning time of 1:20.11. A second-place finish from Mehring (1:22.43) and third-place effort by
Caroline Hill (1:23.81) allowed the Blue Jays to take the maximum 16 points from the event.
Goucher (0-2, 0-1 Landmark) got victories from Shannon (200 free), Ila Jackson (50 free) and its 200 medley relay team.
Elizabethtown will not compete again until Saturday, Nov. 10, when they welcome Catholic to the Alumni Pool for their home opener.
