HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's golf team wrapped up Landmark Conference Invitational play on Sunday at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club.
Michael Zabrecky was the Blue Jays' low scorer with a round of 84 (+12) and ended up tied for 18th in the 40-player field with a two-round total of 162 (78-84=162). Zabrecky recorded a birdie and eight pars during final round play.
Two strokes back of Zabrecky was
Caleb Clements, who tied for 23rd. Clements' 77 on Saturday led E-town and on Sunday he put forth an 87 that included a birdie on No. 15, a 188-yard par 3.
Elizabethtown's four scorers in the second round were separated by just four strokes. Freshman
Evan Kreiser picked up his third birdie of the weekend on the 520-yard par 4 No. 12 and carded an 85 to finish at 167 for the tournament (82-85=167).
Tyler Goldberg posted a round of 88, while
Nate Baxter also took to the course for the Blue and Gray.
Goucher was one of only two teams to lower its score from Saturday. The Gophers were nine strokes better on Sunday, shooting 302 and cruising to the victory by 12 shots over Scranton. Goucher ended the tournament 37 over par (311-302=613). Following runner-up Scranton (313-312=625, +49) was Drew at 627 (306-321=627, +51).
Goucher's Julian Gonzalez registered a 2-under par 70 on Sunday after shooting even par, Saturday. Gonzalez claimed individual medalist honors with a 142 (-2), eight strokes ahead of Drew's Ryan Fitzsimmons.
Elizabethtown's two-round total of 672 (+96) ranked seventh of eight teams. The Blue Jays shot 328 as a team in the opening round and 344 on Sunday.
