Blue Jays roll over LVC

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College men's swim team won all but two events Monday night, cruising to a 153-47 victory over visiting Lebanon Valley.

Sophomore Alec Schneider won both sprint freestyle races and anchored the victorious 200-yard medley relay team for a three-win night. Freshmen Connor DiLeo, Austin Dolaway and Alex Pecher added two wins apiece for the Blue Jays, who won for the first time in their last three meets.

Pecher, Ben Spangler, Casey Marshall and Schneider opened with a season-best 1:45.00 to lead an E-town 1-2-3 in the 200 medley relay, though the Jays only earned 15 points for their top two finishing teams. DiLeo followed with a victory in the 1000 free, dropping 10 seconds to a career-best 12:06.44.

Dolaway was impressive in the 200 free, defeating teammate David Foery by 1.88 seconds with a season-best time of 1:54.29.

Elizabethtown (3-2) swept the top three spots for the fourth time in as many events when Schneider won the 50 free (22.74) with Nick Petrella and Tristan Koehler in tow.

Ian Lloyd was able to put a crack in the Blue Jays' stronghold by winning the 200 IM and 100 breast for LVC's (0-5) only victories of the meet. Marshall made his season debut in the 200 IM and gave Lloyd a race while producing a time of 2:05.30, the team's best mark of the season. Lloyd edged Spangler by less than two-tenths of a second in the 100 breast.

But Monday night belonged to the Jays. Tommy Kuhn won the 100 butterfly, Schneider led E-town's fifth 1-2-3 finish of the night in the 100 free, Pecher claimed the 100 back and Foery and Kuhn captured the top two spots in the 500 free.

The Blue Jays brought the meet to a close with a victory from Dolaway, Sam Hirshberg, DiLeo and Ryan Weber in the 200 free relay.

Elizabethtown will face Cabrini a week from Wednesday, on Nov. 29, at Bryn Mawr College.
