Catholic downs women's swimming

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sophomore Sara Lingo recorded second-place finishes in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle, Saturday, as the Elizabethtown College women's swim team fell to Catholic 211-48.

Lingo posted a time of 2:09.79 in the 200 free and went 5:42.40 in the 500 free. She also contributed to Elizabethtown's season-best 1:52.75 in the 200 free relay along with Erika Cole, Sadie Hawkins and Maddie Lasko.

Catholic's top-end talent along with depth in each stroke proved too much for the Blue Jays to withstand. The host Cardinals won all 14 events on Saturday.

Senior Dru Schneider took third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:54.99, and Hawkins, a sophomore, did the same in the 200 butterfly (2:36.61).

Elizabethtown, which drops to 2-1 in duals with the loss to CUA, returns to the Alumni Pool to face Drew and FDU-Florham in a double dual next Saturday at 1 p.m.
