HERSHEY, Pa. -- Junior Adam Strayton shot 89 and sophomore Rick Stone 93 for the Blue Jay golf team at their home tournament, the Elizabethtown Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at Hershey Country Club East.

Strayton carded the best 18-hole score of his collegiate career, securing a birdie and seven pars to do so. The Mount Airy, Maryland, native bettered his round on the back nine, where he was just 7-over on the par 71, 6,482-yard course that played with extremely slow and saturated greens.

Coming off pars on Nos. 12 and 13, Strayton birdied No. 14, a par 5 totaling 491 yards. He would go on to par 16 and 18 as well to play the back in 42 (par 35).

Stone ran into more trouble on the back nine, but was sitting at 9-over after the front nine. He collected four pars on the day, at Nos. 2, 5, 14 and 18. The 93 tied for the third lowest scoring round of the Schuylkill County product's career, bettered only by an 85 at last April's Messiah Falcon Spring Classic and an 89 at the Falcon Fall Classic in Sept. 2015.

Eighteen teams competed in Elizabethtown's annual fall tournament Tuesday. Six players shot even or under par, with Marywood's Nicholas Johnson's 2-under 69 holding off Messiah teammates Satchel Johnson and Jordan Kirsch, who were each one shot back with 1-under 70s.

Hood's Andy Baker, Stevenson's Austin Fuglestad and Albright's Nick Hand forged a three-way tie for fourth with even par rounds of 71. Stevenson's Tyler Slusarczyk, who tied for 13th with a 3-over 74, provided the highlight of the day with a hole in one on No. 16, a 205-yard, par 3.

Elizabethtown travels to Abbottstown and the Hanover Country Club, Saturday, for the Gettysburg Fall Invitational.
