Blue Jays cruise to win at LVC

ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Three wins for Erika Cole and Sara Lingo, along with two each by Megan Anderson, Karlie Kimball and Dru Schneider pushed Elizabethtown women's swimming to a convincing 131-74 victory at Lebanon Valley Monday night.

Lingo (backstroke), Schneider (breaststroke), Maddie Ripley (butterfly) and Cole (freestyle) put forth a 2:19.09 in the 200-meter medley relay as the Blue Jays (3-4) opened the meet with a 1-2 finish.

Kimball, Mariselle Parisi, Sadie Hawkins and Maddie Lasko comprised E-town's second-place team in the relay. With a time of 2:21.90, the Blue Jays' B relay was still more than 6.5 seconds faster than Lebanon Valley's A squad.

Elizabethtown won the first five events and 9-of-11 overall.

Parisi led start-to-finish in the 800-meter freestyle, timing in at 10:47.86. The senior captain won the distance event by more than 16 seconds and Anderson followed with an equally impressive win in the 200 freestyle by almost 11 seconds (2:27.09).

Cole and Lingo fed into the Blue Jays' torrid start to the meet once again, with each collecting their first individual win of the night.

Cole was the only swimmer to break 30 seconds in the 50-meter free, doing so by the closest of margins with a 29.99.

Lingo triumphed by 13 seconds in the 200 individual medley. Along with a runner-up finish by Schneider and a solid performance by freshman Sarah Helt, E-town took three of the top four spots.

Kimball swam a 1:17.06 to win the 100 backstroke, while Lingo (4:58.15) and Anderson (5:11.20) went 1-2 in the 400 free.

For the second meet in a row, Schneider took the win in the 100 breast, this time in 1:25.53. Elizabethtown made it a sweep of the relays with a winning time of 2:03.73 in the 200 free relay coming from Cole, Kimball, Anderson and Lasko.

Elizabethtown returns to the pool in just under two weeks when Juniata comes to the Alumni Pool for a women's meet on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m.
