Men's swimming rolls over Lebanon Valley 131-73

ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Elizabethtown won 8-of-11 events and received victories from five different individuals to down Lebanon Valley 131-73 in a non-conference dual Monday night in Annville.

With the win, the Blue Jays (4-3) have already recorded their most dual victories in a season since going 4-7 in 2011-12.

Casey Marshall dominated the 200-meter freestyle, winning by more than eight seconds in 2:09.56. He later beat out defending Middle Atlantic Conference silver medalist Ian Lloyd in the 100-meter butterfly and was the only competitor to finish in under one minute (59.35).

Marshall and freshman teammate Alec Schneider were part of three wins each. They partnered with sophomores Nick Petrella and Guillaume Gouronc to open the meet in style by leading wire-to-wire to capture the 200-meter medley relay in 1:56.30.

Schneider put his sprinting prowess on display by going 25.76 in the 50 freestyle. Kieran Koehler was second at 26.54 as the Blue Jays swept the top two spots.

Elizabethtown continued to distance itself from the Dutchmen with wins by David Foery in the 100 free (57.44), Petrella in the 100 backstroke (1:05.85) and Gouronc in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.39).

The Blue and Gray claimed a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 back, with Sam Hirshberg (1:07.03) and Brian Sylvestri (1:09.27) closely pursuing Petrella.

Kieran Koehler, Sylvestri, Foery and Schneider breezed to victory in the finale, recording a 1:44.03 in the 200-meter free to outpace LVC's top relay by more than 11.5 seconds.

Monday's meet was Elizabethtown's final dual of the 2016 calendar year and one of only two meets the Blue Jays will swim in a meter pool this season.

The Blue Jays will next compete at Washington (Md.) on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at 1 p.m.
