Marshall posts pair of seconds in loss to York (Pa.)

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Casey Marshall recorded second-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly as the Elizabethtown men's swimming team fell to York (Pa.) in its season-opener Saturday at the Alumni Pool, 162-86.

Marshall laid down a 51.38 in the 100 free for runner-up honors and showed impressively in the 100 fly with a 55.87.

York's talent and depth proved too much for the Blue Jays (0-1), as the visitors secured the top time in all 14 events.

Sophomore Guillaume Gouronc swam 2:25.24 to take second in the 200 breast.

Elizabethtown got third-place finishes from Nick Petrella in the 100 back (59.65), Kieran Koehler in the 100 breast (1:05.44) and Jake Stonecipher in the 200 fly (2:33.68).

The Blue Jays are at the Susquehanna Schweikert Relays next Friday at 6 p.m., before heading to Goucher for their next dual on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m.
