Men's cross country takes seventh at SUNY Geneseo

GENESEO, N.Y. -- Keegan McDonough was the lead Jay for the Elizabethtown College men's cross country team Saturday at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invititational. The Blue Jays wound up seventh with 219 points.

McDonough, a senior, took 33rd overall and was the top finisher for E-town for the first time this season. McDonough ran 26:19.6 and averaged 5:18/mile in his 8k run.

Behind McDonough was Samuel Gerstenbacher in 49th at 26:50.1.

Senior Andrew Lesko and junior Tom Fitzgerald were within four seconds of one another as Lesko took 61st in 27:00.1 and Fitzgerald was 66th in 27:04.2.

Liam Coverdale rounded out the scoring five for the Blue Jays. He ran 27:24.9 and took 88th overall.

The men's 8,000-meter race featured 316 runners. Geneseo won the meet with 17 points.

Elizabethtown will run next Saturday, Oct. 8 at DeSales.
