ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Elizabethtown swam its first dual meet of 2016 Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Pool, but it was visiting Washington College taking home a pair of wins. The Shoremen defeated the Blue Jays by a 129-69 score and the Shorewomen emerged with a 129-71.

For the women, Amanda Long set her fastest 50-yard freestyle time this year and the second quickest on the team with a 26.64, good for a runner-up finish. Long was also second in the 100 breaststroke and Rachel Engelhardt claimed a second-place finish in the 200 free.

Bonnie Lisk trimmed more than a second off her previous best in the 100 individual medley, going 1:09.81, while Dayna Stewart took second in the 100 butterfly.

The Blue Jay men dropped a tigh race in the 200 medley relay, with Nick Petrella, Guillaume Gouronc, Tommy Kuhn and David Foery missing out on the victory by half a second. The Jays' relay came within .12 of its season best time.

Kuhn swam his first sub-56-second 100 fly with a 55.98. Sam Hirshberg set a personal best in the 100 back by a tenth of a second (1:00.30).

Elizabethtown closes its home schedule against Frostburg State Monday evening at 6 p.m.
