HARRISBURG, Pa. – Junior Kyle Hakun shot an opening round 78 Sunday, tops for Elizabethtown in the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational at Dauphin Highlands. The tournament concluded Monday afternoon, but due to class schedules, the Blue Jays were unable to field a team in the second round.

Hakun was 6-over par in his first round of the 2015-16 season, which would have tied him for 27th on the leaderboard at the conclusion of play Sunday.

Freshman Santiago Garcia put forth another consistent round with an 82 to follow Hakun. Garcia was coming off an 81 in the season opening Moravian Fall Invitational last Monday.

A benefactor of course time last week, sophomore Craig Eidle shot 90, a nine stroke improvement over his season debut at Moravian. Rick Stone made his first appearance as a Blue Jay and shot 96, with Adam Amspacher also competing for Elizabethtown.

Franklin & Marshall's Dan Furman bested teammate Brad Lankler on the second playoff hole Monday to take individual medalist honors. The pair of Diplomats both finished the two-day tourney with scores of 143, good for 1-under par. F&M took the top three spots with Stephen Colodny finishing third, breezing to the team title by 17 strokes over Gettysburg.

Tuesday the Blue Jays host the Elizabethtown Invitational at the East Course at Hershey Country Club. Action gets underway at 12:30 p.m.
