Women's swimming splits double dual with Bryn Mawr and Cabrini

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Amanda Long captured a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke and Elizabethtown women's swimming swept both relay races in splitting Wednesday's double dual at Bryn Mawr. The Jays defeated Cabrini 131-69, but fell to the hosts 114-91.

Long's time of 1:11.43 usurped her former season best by almost two seconds. She outpaced second-place Angela Mastrianni of Bryn Mawr by 4.5 seconds for Elizabethtown's lone individual win of the night.

The Blue Jays (4-3) had great success in the relays, however. Bonnie Lisk, Dru Schneider, Dayna Stewart and Erika Cole led from start-to-finish in the 200 medley, finishing in 2:03.64. Cole and Stewart were joined by Long and Rachel Engelhardt in the 200 freestyle relay, as Elizabethtown bookended the meet with wins. The Jays' winning time was 1:48.95 in a close battle with Cabrini.

Twelve individual season best times were established Wednesday evening, with Long (100 breast) and Stewart (100 butterfly) setting team best marks in their respective events. Stewart took nearly half a second off her previous 100 fly PR with a 1:04.83 to finish runner-up.

Cole (26.86) and Long (27.22) notched E-town's second and third fastest 50 free times of the season, while Jennifer Lakey posted the team's third quickest 500 free with a 6:23.77.

Elizabethtown will head to Scranton for its final meet of the 2015 calendar year Saturday at 1 p.m.
