Three wins from Engelhardt, Finnegan lead WSWIM over LVC

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Seniors Rachel Engelhardt and Elizabeth Finnegan propelled the Blue Jay women's swim team past Lebanon Valley, 130-75, with three wins apiece Monday evening at the Alumni Pool.

Engelhardt took top honors in the 200-yard freestyle, 500 free and the 200 free relay, while Finnegan anchored the 200 medley and free relays, and won the 50 free in a season best 25.97.

The first five events all went to the Blue Jays (3-2), starting with Bonnie Lisk, Amanda Long, Dayna Stewart and Finnegan earning maximum points in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:59.42.

Mariselle Parisi impressed in her 1000 free debut, putting down Elizabethtown's quickest time this season (12:27.40) to outpace her closest competition by nearly 30 seconds. Engelhardt followed with a win in the 200 free, before Finnegan swam her first sub 26-second race in the 50 free leading teammate Joni Fleming in a 1-2 finish for the Blue and Gray. Finnegan's time was the eighth fastest in the Landmark this year.

Lisk set a new season best time by two seconds in capturing the 200 individual medley (2:31.52) ahead of LVC's Madison Martin. Fleming added a season best 1:00.74 in the 100 free, as Blue Jays finished 2-3-4 with Parisi and Erika Cole in hot pursuit.

Engelhardt shattered her entry time in the 500 free with a 5:51.28 and Megan Anderson was within two seconds for E-town, which claimed the top two spots in the event.

Elizabethtown would go 1-2 for the second event in a row when Long swam 1:13.28 and Dru Schneider 1:16.95 in the 100 breaststroke.

Stewart, Cole, Engelhardt and Finnegan closed the meet with a commanding win in the 200 free relay.

The Blue Jays will swim their second double dual of the season on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Bryn Mawr. Cabrini will join Elizabethtown and host Bryn Mawr for the meet, which is scheduled for 6 p.m.
