ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – David Foery did his best to try and help the Elizabethtown College men's swim team topple Lebanon Valley Monday night at the Alumni Pool. The sophomore won the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, and anchored a victorious 200 medley relay team, but the Blue Jays fell to the Dutchmen 118-87.

E-town (2-3) rallied to win the opening 200 medley relay when freshman Tommy Kuhn gapped LVC's top team by almost two seconds in the butterfly leg with a 24.36. Foery finished it off by swimming a 23.75 50-yard free. Nick Petrella (backstroke) and Guillaume Gouronc (breaststroke) also put in solid efforts to keep the Jays in contention. The hosts would claim a new season best by two-tenths of a second (1:45.53) when the final times went up on the board.

Foery collected his second win of the evening in the 200 free, defeating Dutchmen standout Clay Heebner by three seconds in a time of 1:55.94. Later, the West York grad made it a 3-for-3 meet with a victory in the 100 free, as the Blue Jays' stamped their dominance on the freestyle events. Foery's 51.06, his fastest this fall, ranks 15th in the conference to date.

Kuhn cranked out a 24.01 to win the 50 free and a new PR in the 100 fly (56.66), closing to within 2.6 seconds of Robert Sahms school record that has stood since 1969-70. Sahms' 100 and 200 fly records, both set in 1969-70, are the longest standing school records in program history.

Gouronc a new PR of 2:13.39 to finish runner-up in the 200 individual medley.

Kieran Koehler placed second in the 100 breast, but moved into the top 10 in the conference (10th) with a strong time of 1:05.55. Gouronc, who ranks right ahead of Koehler in the Landmark with a 1:05.31, finished just behind him Monday in 1:05.78.

Petrella lowered his 100 back mark by half a second in finishing second. The freshman from Red Lion broke into the 58's for the first time (58.91). Junior Jake Stonecipher took second in the 500 free in 5:46.85 and shaved more than 10 seconds off his previous best mark of 5:57.05.

The Blue Jay men will face Cabrini in a neutral site dual at Bryn Mawr on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m.
