YORK, Pa. – Swimming its first dual meet of 2015-16, Elizabethtown won three events in a 137-68 defeat at York (Pa.) Wednesday evening.

Amanda Long and Elizabeth Finnegan each won an individual event and were part of the victorious 200-yard medley relay team.

The Blue Jays (0-1) started the night on a high note in the 200 medley relay, coming back to beat the Spartans top team at the finish in a time of 1:58.38. Bonnie Lisk led off with the backstroke, followed by Long in the breaststroke, freshman Dayna Stewart in the butterfly and Finnegan in the freestyle. E-town's quartet picked up over a second from its effort at the Susquehanna Schweikert Relays last Friday.

Finnegan, returning to the pool after a two-year hiatus forced by injury, put in another strong showing in the 50 free, winning in a new personal best time of 26.26 ahead of York's Taylor Witte (26.55) and Reilly Kobus (26.94).

Long won her signature event, the 100 breast, by more than 2.7 seconds with a 1:13.03. Last season, the Bethlehem native won the 100 or 200 breast in 6-of-9 regular season meets.

Rachel Engelhardt took runner-up in the 200 free (2:09.29) and freshman Erika Cole was fourth in 2:14.90. Long finished second in the 200 individual medley (2:31.72) and Stewart second in a close 100 fly (1:05.00).

Elizabethtown will travel to Catholic on Saturday, Nov. 14, to face the Cardinals at 1 p.m.
