FROSTBURG, Md. – Frank Capria won the 400-meter and 800-meter freestyle and David Foery added a victory in the 200-meter freestyle, as the Elizabethtown men's swim team fell to Frostburg State, 168-82, Friday evening at Bobcat Natatorium in its final tuneup ahead of February's Landmark Championships.

Capria bolted out to an early lead and was never challenged in winning the 800m free in 9:39.99. Friday's time was close to 10 seconds better than the one Capria swam at Lebanon Valley back on Nov. 25, E-town's (2-7) only other meet in a meter pool this season.

With Foery up next in the 200m free, the Blue Jays were able win successive events. The freshman from York was six-hundredths of a second faster than his previous meter best, going 2:08.52 to defeat FSU's James Williams by just over a second.

Elizabethtown could not do any damage to the Bobcats (3-10) on the scoreboard, though. In the races won by Capria and Foery, Frostburg State finished 2-3-4, nullifying the Jays' nine points with nine of their own.

Capria, a senior, cut close to 10 seconds off his 400m time with a 4:37.98 to complete the distance sweep.

The Blue Jays would finish the meet on a high note, winning the 200m free relay in 2:04.95 after Frostburg State took a DQ. Freshman Clayton Leab put forth the team's fastest 50 split from his lead off spot with a 27.72. Conner Land, Omar Zabala and Jake Stonecipher joined him in the win.

Foery was second in the 50m butterfly (30.76) and 100m free (57.19) as the two teams competed in a non-traditional meet that included 50m and 100m strokes. Kieran Koehler took second in the 50m free (33.02) and 100m breaststroke (1:17.55), and third in the 100m free (1:01.36).

Elizabethtown will compete at the Landmark Championships for the first time Feb. 13-15 at the Germantown Indoor Swim Center in Boyds, Md.
