ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – No. 2 seed Elizabethtown pushed its Landmark Conference semifinal game with No. 3 Juniata to overtime on Kaylee Werner's second half goal, but the Eagles prevailed, 2-1, with a goal 10 minutes into double overtime at Wolf Field Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple chances for the Blue Jays in overtime were just off the mark of snuffed out by Juniata goalie Julianne Jones. Late in the first overtime Kaylee Werner got free and made a move to the right to elude Jones, but with a bad angle, Werner's shot was just right of the open cage.

Jacki Hikes and Nicole Leaf were both stopped by Jones in the second overtime, before Kortney Showers sent Sarah Bilheimer in on a break against Selene Jones in the 96th minute. Bilheimer alertly flipped a shot high enough to get over the six-foot E-town goalie and it bounced into the cage sending the Eagles (13-5) to their first Landmark title game since 2011.

Riding high after upsetting Catholic, the eighth-ranked team in the country, last Saturday in double overtime, Juniata carried the play over the first 20 minutes.

Bilheimer and Allison Groft had back-to-back shots stopped in the 13th minute. Bilheimer was denied by Selene Jones and Groft's follow up attempt kept out on a defensive save by Emily Mason, her team-leading sixth of the season.

The first six shots belonged to Juniata in the first postseason meeting between the two rivals, who were playing for the 23rd time since 1993.

Juniata would break through at 20:40 of the first half in transition. Katie Alexander started the run down the right side and fed a pass toward the center of the field, where Bilheimer moved it on for Groft to fire into the lower left corner of the cage for a 1-0 lead.

Despite three penalty corners, the Blue Jays (11-7) could not get the equalizer. Julianne Jones stopped both shots to come her way in the opening 35 minutes and would finish with five in the contest.

At the other end, Selene Jones had to be on top of her game to give the Blue Jays a chance. She was, making six saves,–several big– including the one on Bilheimer early when she had to dive right to smother the Eagles' leading scorer.

Outplayed in the first half, Elizabethtown brought the game to Juniata after the half. Two quick corners led to a great scoring opportunity for Werner, but Tori Buser gave her team a lift with a defensive save near the left post.

Finally, in the 53rd minute, the Blue Jays tied it. Andrea Keady sent a ball from the left sideline to Werner in the middle of the field, and the senior rocketed a shot to the lower left past Julianne Jones.

Neither E-town nor Juniata would get another shot off over the remaining 17:11 of regulation following Werner's tying goal.

Elizabethtown played its way back into an even game, outshooting Juniata 9-4 over the second half and both overtimes. The Eagles, by way of their commanding first half, still held a 12-11 edge at game's end.

Selene Jones would add a second half save to finish with seven for the blue and gray, which also had 14 corners to its opponent's nine.

Elizabethtown's 11 wins marked its 10th consecutive season of double-digit victories.
