Kathy Goodman Montgomery '81 spent four seasons as a player with the Blue Jays, before returning to campus in the 1990s to serve as head coach of both the men's and women's programs.

As a student-athlete, then-Goodman spent a majority of her playing career at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles. She was part of Elizabethtown teams that went 13-1 in 1980 and 10-2 in 1981.

Montgomery is remembered most for her accomplishments as a coach, however. She led the women's program to its first ever conference championship, as the Blue Jays won the Middle Atlantic Conference in the fall of 1993. Two years later, Montgomery had Elizabethtown back on top, winning the 1995 title.

In six seasons with the women's team, Montgomery won 43 matches with top records of 13-4 in 1995 and 11-1 in the fall of 1993. She had a winning record (27-19) with the men's team from 1997-99, including a 15-win season in 1998.
