Elizabeth (Bishard) Zeigler '98 excelled as a two-way player during her career with the Elizabethtown women's volleyball team. She had great ability on the offensive side of the ball and it one of the top outside hitters in school history.
Zeigler was also masterful at keeping the ball in play defensively. Her status as a dual threat led to her being named a MAC Commonwealth League First Team
All-Star in 1994, 1995 and 1996, and a Second Team All-Star in 1997.
Zeigler is the school’s career leader in kills per set at 3.4. She ranks fourth
all-time in kills with 1,295 and sixth in digs with 1,440.
A native of York, Pa., Elizabeth racked up 427 kills in 1996, at the time a single-season school record, and her 4.12 kills per set as a senior in 1997 remain a program benchmark. She was the first Blue Jay to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career and is one of only three players in school history to rank within the top 10 for her career in both categories.
