In more than 80 seasons of Blue Jay baseball, few carried as prolific a bat as Brad Duppstadt '04.
A two-time MAC Commonwealth MVP (2003 and 2004) and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Second Team All-American as a senior, Duppstadt still holds a share of the program's career home run record with 17. Up until last season, he was the only Elizabethtown player with 200 career hits.
Duppstadt hit .295 with a homer and 26 runs batted in as a freshman in 2001, garnering MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year honors as the Blue Jays captured the conference championship. He was voted all-conference Second Team as a sophomore, before cranking out two of the best offensive seasons in program history as a junior and senior in 2003 and 2004.
The outfielder from Mechanicsburg, Pa., batted a career-best .422 in 2003. A year later, he set new career-highs in hits (58), runs (41), home runs (nine), runs batted in (37) and stolen bases (11) while hitting over .400 for the second straight season.
Duppstadt appears in the top 10 of multiple single-season and career records. He's second in career hits (200), sixth in career runs batted in (109) and tied for sixth in career games played (152). The nine round-trippers he hit as a senior are the second most by a Blue Jay in a season all-time.
In addition to his 2004 All-America honor, Duppstadt was twice named ABCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region. He earned First Team recognition in 2004 and Second Team honors in 2003.
