Fackler earns second CoSIDA Academic All-District spot

2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District™ 4 Baseball Teams

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Elizabethtown College senior second baseman Kyle Fackler was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ 4 NCAA Division III Baseball Team for a second consecutive season, Thursday.

Fackler, an engineering major with a 3.48 GPA from Harrisburg, is having the best season of his career for the 22-13 Blue Jays with a .458 batting average, 60 hits, 39 runs, 11 doubles, three triples, one homer and 23 RBIs --astounding to think about considering he's a three-time all-conference first team selection and has a couple of all-region honors under his belt.

Currently ninth in all of Division III nationally in on base percentage (.552) and 11th in batting average (.458), Fackler has been as high as the top five in both categories at points throughout the season. He leads the Landmark Conference in batting average, hits, on base percentage and plate appearances (164); ranks second in runs, triples (three) and walks (25); and is top third in at-bats (136, total bases (80), and fielding assists (90).

Last weekend against Juniata, the 2014 Central Dauphin East grad became Elizabethtown's all-time hits leader with 201. Fackler's now up to 205 hits and the school's career runs (162), at-bats (568) and walks (97) records could also be in danger.

Fackler is poised to finish with one of the top five career batting averages in program history, as he currently holds a .382 in 145 games played. His 45 career doubles are second most at E-town and 11 triples sixth.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Baseball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District™ teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

Fackler, a First Team Academic All-District™ honoree, advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America™ Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America™ honorees will be selected later this month.
